- Battle
in India ranged from jungle to desert, from mountain peak to dismal swamp, yet on every field were
the homes of the Native peoples caught up in the flow of events. Yet without representative models of such
huts, houses and farms, the war gamer's table top can never really catch the look and "flavor"
of the lands where their miniature battles are fought. Studio 33 Productions' plan has been to
provide these heretofore unavailable accessories, but now the East Indian Buildings project is at
last ready to join our catalog of affordable, unique card stock structures.
The building provided represent a range of architectural styles from around India. The
"Western Ups" would look at home in the Punjab, the Wattle and Daub structures of Dun and Bhabar
would be found over much of Central and Southern India, while the "Eastern Ups" belong to
the area of the Northeast Frontier.
Intended for use with the rules John Company , these models are duplicated in both 15mm
and 28mm scales. They are also provided in your choice in either card stock, or as PDF's on CD for self
printing.
The professionally printed models are in full color on high quality cardstock using superior
photographic bamboo, thatch, mud, stone, and hard wood textures in order to provide a remarkably
detailed and convincing feel to your Indian battle scapes. Requiring only scissors, a craft knife,
white glue, and in some cases 1/4 dowel or fine tooth picks, cut to various lengths, all buildings
are ready to cut out and assemble for immediate use. By adding your own heavy matte or foam core board
for bracing floors and walls, these models will last for many years of active gaming.
The 28mm buildings are well suited to role-playing games and may easily be modified for
interior detail.
There are 17 different building designs which may be bought singly or as sets. These designs are
duplicated with some small changes in 15mm and 28mm to match the two most popular scales for playing
John Company . Sheets of fence sections and extra strips of bamboo for adding "3D"
texture to the Wattle and Daub designs are also provided. If there is sufficient demand, the
bamboo and thatch huts of Bengal will be made available, and all models may be produced in
6mm versions should there be expressed interest.
